Thanks for this Siobhan, its often very difficult to find much info on civil weddings. Best of luck with the blog
Hi Siobhan,
I can’t seem to download the civil ceremony order of service – when I click it, nothing happens? Could you email it to me?
Many thanks,
Lisa
Hi Lisa
I’ve just sent it onto you by e mail 🙂 It’s the green link that you click underneath the post….will check it out in case there’s something wrong on one of the web browsers. Thanks for letting me know!
Thanks for that Shona. I know there’e not a lot of information out there yet about the civil ceremony. I did one just before Christmas in Adare Manor and it was really lovely. Good luck with your big day. Siobhan
Hi Siobhan,
Thanks so much for sourcing that civil wedding info…it has been so hard to get info on civil weddings in Ireland.
Thanks
No problem Emilia. If there’s anything else that would be of use on the blog just let me know and I’ll try to find the information. Best of luck with your big day 🙂
Hiya,
i’m getting married in a Civil Ceremony in 2 weeks but haven’t a clue what to do in terms of readings, music etc. It’s a small family civil ceremony so any help you can forward in terms of how we could make it more special would be SO helpful!! Thank you!
Hi Clodagh
Congratulations!! I’ve done a few civil ceremonies and the couple have chosen some nice readings/poems that mean something to them. e.g. The Hands Poem that I have on my blog here is beautiful for a civil ceremony. You could have the candle ceremony as well where you each light a single candle to represent your individuality and then you both light the middle candle after you are married to represent your unity. Another option is to have a sand ceremony. Also the music you select can help to personalise the ceremony. If there’s a particular piece of music that means something to both of you then try to incorporate it into your ceremony. If you have a look on http://www.weddingsonline.ie/discussion/viewtopic.php?t=213172&highlight=civil+ceremony&sid=ee0b4f8b00b0211323e642441ff700e6 you’ll find some poems that might be suitable. I’ll see what else I have here and I’ll e mail you with whatever I find! Best of luck with your big day 🙂
